A choreographic installation of getting dressed in public space.

Premiere on the 14th of August in Tasku @ Urban Festival UIT (Tartu / Estonia).

Sounding bodies was a research-oriented residency in Kanuti Gildi SAAL with Taavi Suisalu.

We arrived at the residency with the intention of using the human body as a potential sound generator and manipulator. We were also interested in the communicative aspects of sound: considering voice as a link between inner selves and outer space.

Going to Die was an instantanous composition for photography, word, and voice. A collaboration between Florent Hamon, holding the camera, and Nele Suisalu, telling an ephemeral story about the beauty of non-belonging, resulting in a photo book and a  lullaby attached to it.

Die is a little town in South-East of France. Known for its sparkling wine called Clairette de Die.

2008 - ..

Is an on-going photo collection of people sleeping in public places. While working on "HOME(lessness)SICKNESS" I was thinking about sleeping:

A sleeping body/person has an existence that is out of control and out of context (disconnected from the actual surroundings). Thus the sleep can be imagined as a location that eliminates every other physical location and becomes the essential location.

The nowhere-arrivals of this body on stage are accompanied by the mechanical and mental sounds of changing places: by a subway-musicians' hit-parade and by an elderly voice anchored in its monologue of memories. Like the equilibrium of a flying airplane: speed vs gravity.

Transforming the theatrical encounter to a cozy and intimate one through their improvised performance, they reveal not only the discursive but also the embodied dimensions of communication. Delving into the desires, expectations and wishes of the audience in order to investigate the collective “artifice” we invest in.

Heart Space / Coaching***

Tango .. our physical body in action .. experiments with amalgamating two individual Heart Spaces by direct physical contact of two people.

Voice .. our emotional body in action ..  allows to become fully aware of one's verticality and place in space, among Others.

Heart Space .. explores the phenomenon of universal Love and its praxis in everyday life.

* is a marvelous form of human communication: a direct body to body dialogue. But also simply an enjoyable social dance.

Despite of its common presentation as the passionate and sensual social dance. The actual contact points between two dancers seems to say something more precise: heart to heart, head to head.

The whole practice of inviting someone to share an experience of embrace, taking the Other into one's arms or letting oneself to be taken into Other's arms is constantly working as a mirror for one's inner being.

** considers one's voice as a body part:  .. /to be continued/

***  "We have passion, aggression, and ignorance. That is we cultivate our friends and we ward off our enemies and we are occasionally indifferent. Those tendencies are not regarded as shortcomings. They are part of the natural elegance and equipment of human beings.

If you search for awakened heart, /.../, there is nothing except for tenderness. You feel sore and soft, and if you open your eyes to the rest of the world, you feel tremendous sadness. /.../ this experience of sadness is unconditioned. It occurs because your heart is completely exposed.

Real fearlessness is the product of tenderness. It comes from letting the world tickle your heart, your raw and beautiful heart. You are willing to open up, without resistance or shyness, and face the world. You are willing to share your heart with others."
